BB Glow in Hamburg
BB Glow is a microneedling treatment with a tinted serum. It is meant to make the complexion look more even and lightly tinted for a while. It is intended for women who want to apply less make-up in the morning and who live with slight redness or an uneven complexion. What BB Glow is and what it is not
BB Glow is a microneedling treatment with a tinted serum. A pen places fine channels in the skin; a depth of 0.2 to 0.5 millimetres is usual. The serum contains hyaluron, care ingredients and colour pigments, and it lies like a very thin veil over slight redness and irregularities. As a rule, the visible tint fades within a few months. Part of the pigment can, however, remain in the skin for longer, and complete, even fading cannot be guaranteed. BB Glow is not permanent make-up and is not a substitute for treatment by a dermatologist. On what happens to the pigment, the Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) writes in its questions and answers on tattoo inks of 16 April 2025: „The pigments, by contrast, are mostly insoluble. They are initially deposited in the skin.“ (Translation of the German wording; the original German version is authoritative.) That is why we talk it through calmly beforehand to see whether BB Glow is the right thing for you, and why, if there is any doubt, we would rather advise against it.
How an appointment with us works
Hatice Ispir carries out the treatment herself. The consultation and a tolerance test on a small area take place at a first appointment; the treatment itself follows at the earliest 24 to 48 hours later. The test lowers the risk of a reaction, it cannot rule one out, and late reactions after weeks even less so. On the day of the treatment we cleanse the skin, work the serum in over several passes and finish with a mask and sun protection. One session takes 60 to 90 minutes. The studio is at Spaldingstraße 68, less than 50 metres from the Repsoldstraße bus stop and around 500 metres from U1 Hauptbahnhof Süd.
Sessions, intervals and how long it lasts
A single session usually shows a difference already, but it only holds for a short time. The result is built up in a course of four to six sessions at intervals of two to four weeks. The tint usually settles one to two weeks after the last session. How long it stays varies a great deal. With our clients it is a few weeks to a few months, depending on skin renewal, sun, peels and skincare. A top-up after about eight to twelve weeks is meant to keep the tint more even than doing the complete course again.
What to keep in mind in the days afterwards
For 24 hours the face stays dry, so no water, no cleansing products, no make-up. For 48 hours no sport, no sauna, no swimming pool, no tanning bed. For two weeks no peels, no fruit acids, no retinol. Sun protection with a high sun protection factor belongs to every day, otherwise the tint fades patchily. As long as pigment is in the skin, we do not laser that area, because laser light can permanently darken certain pigments. Laser and BB Glow never run in parallel in the same area with us; we discuss the order beforehand.
When we do not treat, and what the risks are
We do not treat during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with inflammation, open areas, herpes, rosacea in a flare, fresh sunburn, a tendency to keloids, while on blood thinners and with a known pigment allergy. Possible are infection, an allergic reaction even weeks later, nodules, unevenly remaining pigment and scarring. Pigment introduced into the skin falls under tattoo ink law; since 4 January 2022 the REACH regulation has restricted around 4,200 substances in it. We only use pigments that are placed on the market as tattoo inks. You are welcome to see the declaration.

Frequently asked
What is the difference from permanent make-up and microneedling?
Permanent make-up stays for years and draws lines or contours; BB Glow lays down an all-over tint that fades again. Classic microneedling works without colour. And unlike a foundation, BB Glow cannot be washed off in the evening, but for most people it does not smudge either.
Does BB Glow hurt, and how does the skin react afterwards?
Most describe a tingling, more noticeably on the forehead and nose. Afterwards the skin is often red and warm. That usually settles within a few hours; on sensitive skin the redness can stay for one to two days. If swelling, pain, blisters or itching increase, or a fever is added, get in touch with us and see a doctor.
Which shade is chosen, and will it suit my skin?
We choose the shade at the appointment against your skin and deliberately stay close to your own tone. BB Glow does not lighten. With darker or olive skin types, a shade that is too light is the main risk, because it can look like a veil or a mask. That is why we prefer to go a touch more restrained.
What if I do not like the result?
The pigment cannot be removed quickly; it fades over weeks to months. That is why we start with a single session and a restrained shade instead of the complete course straight away. On request we take photos before and afterwards in the same light, so that you can judge the difference honestly.
What does BB Glow cost with you?
The current prices are in our price list, individually per session and as a course. The price depends on the area treated. The consultation beforehand costs nothing, with a look at the skin and a tolerance test. We will also tell you if a course will do little for your skin.
I have acne or acne scars. Can I have BB Glow?
With inflamed pustules and open areas we do not treat, because the needles can spread germs. We do not treat scars. BB Glow can even out colour differences visually to some extent; it does not change the structure of scars, which is a matter for a dermatology practice. During pregnancy and breastfeeding we likewise do not treat.
