How it works
First the starting shade is determined, so the difference afterwards is measurable and not just a feeling. Then the gel goes onto the teeth, where it is activated under cold light — usually in several short rounds. At the end we compare against the shade guide once more.
What is possible and what is not
What gets lightened is discolouration on the tooth. Crowns, fillings, veneers and bridges stay as they are — they do not take on whitening. If you have a lot of dental restorations in the visible area, you should know that beforehand. Where exactly the limit lies is stated by the Bundeszahnärztekammer: "Tooth whiteners or tooth bleaching agents fall under the definition of oral products according to the European Regulation 1223/2009/EG and, as such, are freely available for sale if they contain or release up to max. 0.1% hydrogen peroxide. They can be applied without the involvement of a dentist." (Translated from German; the German original version is authoritative.) That is the framework we work in. Anyone who wants a stronger lightening result is in the right place at a dentist, and we will tell you so.
Who it is not suitable for
Not during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, not with untreated cavities, exposed tooth necks or inflamed gums. If your last visit to the dentist was a long time ago, please go there first.
Afterwards
In the first 24 to 48 hours the teeth are more receptive. During this time you should avoid coffee, tea, red wine, cola, curry, tomato sauce and smoking — otherwise you undo the result yourself.

How many shades brighter does it get?
That depends on the starting condition. For many people, several steps on the shade guide are possible. We measure before and afterwards, so that you see the difference instead of guessing at it.
Does teeth whitening harm the enamel?
We work without hydrogen peroxide. The treatment loosens deposits and does not change the tooth substance. With sensitive teeth there can be a brief twinge.
How long does the result last?
Depending on your lifestyle, several months to over a year. If you drink a lot of coffee or smoke, you will see discolouration again sooner.
Do crowns and fillings become brighter as well?
No. Dental restorations do not take on whitening. After the whitening they can therefore stand out darker than before.
